Well, as difficult as it is, I am eating crow pie. I tried to cowash-use conditioner to wash my hair, at least 5 times in the past. I had the most difficult time. My hair felt gritty at times and greasy sometimes. Its almost like I could not get the conditioner rinsed out properly. For some reason, my hair was feeling gooey and my scalp was not clean. I found a non-lathering shampoo in the S2S line that didn’t strip my hair of moisture so I thought my cowashing days were over. I read is stories of how women all over the ‘net were cowashing to their hearts content. They raved about results and oftentimes, I felt left out and totally uninspired by cowashes or cowashers. So, I thought to myself, maybe its operator error….or maybe its faulty products. I realized that in the past I was trying to cowash with heavy conditioners, some of which had way too much protein. I also found that I was possibly not using the best technique. OK, I admit, I had N
O technique at all, which explains why my cowash experience turned out badly. Fast forward to now…..I purchased Suave Humectant conditioner from the Suave Professionals line. Its relatively inexpensive and smells great. The ingredients lists boasts, keratin, glycerin and panthenol. All things my hair needs to thrive and lock in moisture. I also picked up a detangling comb from Essence of Beauty. I decided to separate my hair into six sections. Two in front, two in back and two in the middle-crown. I used a dime sized amount on each section. I worked it through with my fingers to prevent breakage. I rinsed in the shower and used my detangling comb under the water. I got out and roller set and let me tell you….It was glorious. Even before adding my Lottabody, my hair was soft, supple and it smelled great. I was very pleased with the results and will be trying to cowash 1-2 times a week with Suave humectant and still continue to shampoo wash and d/c once a week.
