Every Carpenter Needs Tools

In March of this year I found S2S products. S2S ProductsTools These products are specifically formulated for Ethnic hair. As an African American woman I have to combat dry hair and scalp. S2S products help keep my hair clean, moisturized, and style friendly. This is the only line I’ve used that assists with growth retention. Other faves include: wide tooth combs, large paddle brush, boar bristle brush, and a heated conditioning cap. Best practices: no direct heat – this means no blow drying, no flat ironing, no hot curlers, and no crimping irons; detangle in the shower using a wide tooth comb; use a deep conditioner at least once a week.

Vitamins–The good, the bad and the ugly….

product-2.jpgAny health nut will tell you that vitamin intake is a sure fire way for your body to get the nutrients itVitaminsVitamins needs. I prefer the good old-fashioned way of getting nutrients…eating healthy grub. However, with a busy lifestyle, you need what you need when you need it. I take a few vitamins daily. I take a healthy hair plus vitamin by NOURISH. It contains Biotin, Folic acid and other goodies needed for hair growth. I take a daily supplement for women as well. This multi-vitamin compares to One-a-day without the hefty price tag. The multi contains 100 percent of the daily value requirement for nearly every vitamin known to mankind. I take cranberry tablets to keep my bladder wall and urinary tract clean and the cran-tabs also contain castor oil which is great for hair growth and maintenance as well. Although my multi contains vitamin E, I take an added vit E supplement. I do this because vit E helps fight off free radicals which can damage cells in the body…hair follicles are made up of….you guessed it…cells. Last but not least, I take vitamin C tabs every so often for a boost to my immune system as well as to help my body build up collagen levels. Collagen is highly important in making nails, skin and of course hair healthier. Of course the best thing to top all these vitamins off with is….that’s right good ol’ h2o. Drinking 64oz of water daily will help keep the body running at optimal levels.

How did I get to this?

AuthorI finally decided to take my hair into my own hands! I’m tired of being at the mercy of a stylist. The purpose of this blog is to document my experiences, triumphs, and pitfalls in my personal hairgrowth challenges. There are a lot of websites out there for African American women and so many of them promote natural hair growth. I believe that although natural hair is beautiful, I should be able to grow my hair with my relaxer. Please join me on this journey!!!
